Individuals who have this form of mental illness seem to be highly dramatic and often act like they are playing a role on stage even though there is no audience to watch. Attracting attention and manipulating people with dramatics are common traits with this form of PD.

Someone who has histrionic personality disorder will often act inappropriately, such as being seductive in situations that do not call for this. People who have this form of mental illness can be very charming when they want to be, and they typically crave excitement as well as attention. Being very compulsive is another common trait with histrionic PD, and those with this disorder may place themselves in a position where they are exploited or are in an accident because of their actions. These individuals do not take criticism well and they are sensitive to any signs of rejection, and many feel that these individuals are shallow or superficial in their social relationships.
